I Spy
What you got for me in your bag?
Is it the happy that you bring?
And in that pocket with its chain
Is that a very good thing
I spy?
You look like a long time
You look like
Get to know me tonight
Now get to know me
Tonight, take it slowly
Keep it real
Know that time will take care of us
Now we know that there is no rush
To close the deal, I will seal our
Mouths with a kiss
We can hold onto this and keep it real

Crazy
I stood still waiting
For a glimpse of you It’s been so long
Grey sky overhead
Should have realized
That everything changes
Crazy, you know you’re driving me
insane
Crazy, you’re driving me mad, don’t ya, don’t ya
Crazy, you know you get inside my brain
You drive me crazy
You’re driving me mad
Don’t ya, don’t ya
We play silly games
Round and round circles
No winners here
You can’t bear to look at me
And I can’t hear you
But your silence is deafening me]

Bring It On
Walk away!
Round one, a girl, a weight upon her
shoulders
‘cause life, throws hurdles, one after another
But she’ll stand up
For what she knows is right
She’s never gonna let them take her down without a fight
Round two, my heart is beating faster
now
But ready and waiting, for all that’s still left to come
Don’t let it take hold
And get the better of you
‘cause positivity and strength are gonna see you through
One step forward, three steps back
A taste in your mouth
But you’re gonna bounce right back
Double or nothing a gun in your hand
Take it on, leave it out
Time to bring it right on
One step forward, three steps back
A taste in your mouth
But you’re gonna fight right back
Double or nothing a gun in your hand
Oh yeah, I got a gun in my hand
Bring it on
So bring it on!
Round three, a man, he stands alone
surrounded
By chaos, he falls and holds his head in his hands
And then a surge of power overwhelms him
He whispers into my ear
I’m ready, bring it on
I know that you’ve been down this road
before
Battered and broken, feeling worse than before
But then you know
It’s gonna take some effort
You hold your head up and you breathe in deep
Let’s bring it on
Walk away!

Goldilocks
I remember
We fight about nothing and I'm in a
huff
This makes you frustrated and then we make up
Shorten the distance for the long view
This is the conclusion I come to
Who's been sleeping in my bed?
Laid between music sheets and me
How can we know the partners from
their parts
A small expiration, as they say in France
Hence the conclusion I've come to
Come too
Sometimes I have to hide from your
eyes
Too close within your sights for disguise
You know it's a strange thing, this
physical act
So fearsomely naked, so matter of fact
Down on my knees

Skimming Stones
We would hold a stone aligned with the
horizon
And then release
It would skim and ride until it dipped beneath the water-line
We made helicopters from sycamore
fruits
Those machines were simple
On their way down, turning
I remember scenes painted in
watercolours
The colour of dreams
And then patterns formed and nothing more could stem the rising tide
We broke the surface tension
We broke the surface
Now these stones beneath my clothes will always bear the watermark

The Tap
Well the clock is ticking over, ever
nearer to the day
And the body next to me is drifting further and further away
I am het up, overheating, not sleeping, reliving my past mistakes
Maybe it's all imagination
Won't you listen?
I just want to make this work
What is it I'm doing wrong?
And I struggle as I lie
Not to panic, not to cry
Don't turn the tap on, I want to keep it dry
But what do I know?
How do I know what is going on for
real inside that head?
So I softly bump myself over to his side of the bed
And he jumps like I've burned him and turns himself over
And I did not hear what he said
Maybe he's dreaming of somebody else
I'm not one to listen to myself but listen here I will
I'd be better off sleeping than weeping and waiting for him to go in for the
kill
I don't turn the tap on
I keep it dry
I have no control over what he decides
And he tells me when he wakes
He was dreaming of a place
Full of boxes of chocolates and train-sets and games
Full of toys

Dirtybird
I am a money maker
I am independent
I'd like to work in the great outdoors
Beneath the stars, get the things I wish for
But what I have is a room somewhere
And a recipe book for food that's simple to cook
I decided to get excited about the
real deal
And everything fell into place
Here is a notice about my service
To place an order
Just dial it into me at The Dirty Bird
I started out on the bottom rung
Whoo! Some of the things that would land on my tongue
I had a taste for a better life
For a quality mark, not just a shot in the dark
It was hot stuff for the dog rough
Just making short work of short orders for everyone
Until a big cheese, he cocked a gun at me
I said, "Oh well then,"
It's such a common place to be
At The Dirty Bird
I started out on the bottom rung
I had a taste for a better life
You judge yourself by the things you've done
Your trouble and strife
If you've decided to get excited about
the real deal
Where everything falls into place
Here is a notice about my service
To place an order
Just dial it into me at The Dirty Bird

Liberty Bell
Stepping away from your house
Wrapped up in a Sunday shroud
At Christchurch Christmas knell
I'm passing the Liberty Belle
And I hear it with such clarity, tolling the ages
The old Dublin people that keep it to themselves
Let's ring out the Liberty Bell
Woman after morning mass
Kneeling to her Sunday brass
She shines so very well
This last of the Liberty belles
Her weather-beaten, supple hands are yellowing pages
From hymn-books of traders, the songs of buy and sell
Let's ring out the Liberty Bell
Among the ghosts of market squares
As notes die out in freezing air
A world is waning in my view
I want to save it all for you
Out into the living night
To sup a little black and white
I'll have one for myself
And one for the Liberty Bell
And one more for the beaten road
To kick up the traces
Of the old Dublin people that kept it to themselves
Let's ring out the Liberty Bell

Great For Us
So much for loving, so much for fate
I’ve got a feeling, I’m not going to waste
Your perfect style, your cheeky smile
I got to tell you
That it could be great for us
Ya we could be great for us
Ya we could be great for us
I hardly know you, but it feels right
I’ve got a notion you’re my true messiah
The ease of being with you around me
Some day I’ll tell you
That it could be great for us
Ya we could be great for us
Ya we will be great for us
I know you know this, it’s in your
kiss
I got a feeling, I can’t forget
So close your brown eyes, lay down beside me
I got to tell you
That we will be great for us
Ya we were made for us
That we would be great for us
Ya we were made for us
And it will be great for us

Out To Sea

Summer's Son
[Lyrics]

A Clear View
From the mountain top
On a dull day
No other people in clear sight
Then the clouds roll off
Just like a blanket
All is revealed in the sunlight
I'm here
If you need me
And I roll down there
Jump in the rivers
Laugh at the grass like a young child
It just shows me how
With a clear view
Everything is ever changing
I'm here
If you need me
I'll be here
Because I ran with you
Like a school-child
Into the yard when the bell rings
And from the mountain top
I can see you
And in every note that I sing
I'm here
If you need me
I'll be here
