Bill Coleman is Today FM's Daily Download:

From Cobh in County Cork, we first heard from singer Bill Coleman 2 years ago when he released his debut album I’ll Tear My Own Walls Downs. Since then, Bill has been gigging and writing relentlessly and his critics and fans will be delighted to know that he has new material to release. A fan of his, Orla Kerbey, has recommended his brand new single.

Orla says, “I just thought I would nominate Bill Coleman’s new song for the Daily Download. Welcome to the Breakdown, along with its nifty video, arrived in my inbox the other day and it’s definitely a tap-your-feet-along-with-the-beat kind of song.” Indeed it is, and if you check out the video below, you’ll see it’s a cartoon of Brian Cowen desperately trying to save the economy after someone kidnaps the Celtic Tiger… "

Free Gig In Kilkenny Tonight (10th One Take Sessions): We’re back on the live scene tonight for the start of a busy weekend, starting off with the 10th One Take Sessions.

"Bill Coleman has been busy of late, the Corkman currently involved in a massive Irish tour which includes several support slots to Aslan. Ever since the release of his current album ‘I’ll Tear My Own Walls Down’, Bill has been winning praise across the country and has been compared to the likes of The Cure and Elvis Costello. His stop in Kilkenny tonight will be a solo one, before heading to Ennis on Saturday night to the Glor Theatre with Aslan and continuing on around the country through to the middle of August. You’d be silly to let the man Tom Dunne sounded out as a Rising Star earlier this year slip through your fingers – catch him in Kilkenny while you can tonight!"

Newsletter: "Hello there folks - hope you're all keeping well now...

Couple of things for you, firstly, Bill will be talking various forms of nonsense this Thursday on Anna Livia 103.2FM between the hours of 9 and 10 of the pm. He will also be playing some songs live in studio and also (gasp) tracks from the forthcoming album (that are in a fit state to play, that is...)

I think you'll only be able to pick this up if you're in Dublin - apologies to the various people in New Zealand, Cork, Athlone, Oz, Denmark, New York etc but that's the way the cookie crumbles folks...

Secondly (and rather more excitingly for us folks) various floods of blood, sweat and tears expended over the last few eons have borne fruit and the first EVER (no, really) Bill Coleman gig with a full band will happen November 4th - that's a Friday - upstairs in Toners pub on Baggot Street. We think this will be fun. Do come."]
