We all know the names, listen to the albums and have sang the songs. It's pretty impressive for a little island with a population of just over 4.5million. Ireland is a country synonymous with music and eclectic song. Today the Irish music scene is at its most vibrant, with an array of immense talent and styles emerging. The mood on Irish Streets is one of independence; the Bands are doing it for themselves and the audiences have never been more excited. The Tupelo Tapes is the first in a series of Irish compilations available on Vitaminic. This exclusive compilation will give a very real flavour of the indie music scene in Ireland and the artists selected will range from well established bands/ artists on the circuit to newcomers busy raising profiles and building loyal followings. Some news on some of the artists featuring on the Tupelo Tapes: Mundy, having released an EP and a single on his own label, is due to shortly record a new album. Nina Hynes is busy touring the US to screaming audiences and will be releasing her second album “Staros” in the coming months. Babelfish have a much awaited debut EP release set for November. Adrian Crowley, having completed his second album with Steve Albini in the US, is preparing for its imminent release in October. The Jimmy Cake continue to take Dublin by storm with their stunningly eclectic live performances. ."

The third TV series of Other Voices – Songs from a Room began at the end of March on RTE and this year features a whole host of Irish and international talent. Other Voices 3 was recorded in Dingle Co. Kerry in November & December 2004. In total 39 acts played live in St. James' Church in Dingle. All of this was recorded on multi-track and later remixed by DanDan.
