June 2005
"Feel The Machine" enters the Irish singles charts at No.23.

June 2005
The Chalets had no time to recover from their splendid Vicar Street gig on Friday night - they had to jump on a plane on Saturday morning to join The Cribs as special guests on their UK tour. They will be touring with them for the next 2 weeks.

The band's 3rd single, "Feel The Machine" (Setanta), was released last Friday. You can have a sneak preview of the video here: The Chalets' début album, Check-In (Setanta), is scheduled for release in late August.

Their 2004 single "Nightrocker" will be used in the trailer (Worldwide expect the US) for the new Dreamworks' animation film Madagascar.

This is in addition to having a song featured on the CD soundtrack to the new Owen Wilson film "The Wedding Crashers" and the song "Kiss Chasing" featured on the soundtrack to new Irish feature film "Boy Eats Girl".

May 2005
PROC:
It all began in a clamour of booze and hormones. Two girls, two boys, and a drummer (as the joke goes), inspired by a weekend of hedonism at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival somewhere in the south of England, they decided to form a band. Learning instruments and writing songs, other such trivialities would be ironed out later.

Remarkably, this notion actually took fruition and before long it was a whirlwind of boy-girl face-offs, loud guitars, xylophones, nurse uniforms and indie-rock kids. The Chalets joined the ranks of Ireland's much-loved indie institution, the Road Relish Singles Club, for a split seven-inch with synthesiser-pop freak Neosupervital which featured Pee Pee and Pony re-imagined as cartoon space-babes. They then released their debut first single "Theme From Chalets" on Nasty Pop Records in 2004.

On the flip side of the same single, "Sexy Mistake" is used in heavy rotation on MTV for a daft promotional campaign featuring farm animals with trendy haircuts. The "Nightrock" EP soon followed and even broke the notoriously dire Irish Singles Chart.

To top it all off The Chalets scooped the Best New Band award of 2005 at The Meteor Awards.

The Chalets release their debut album "Check-In" on August 15 plus a new single entitled "Feel The Machine " over the summer months on Nasty Pop/Setanta Records.

They are also to be included on the CD soundtrack album for the forthcoming Owen Wilson film called "The Wedding Crashers" which also stars Christopher Walken and Vince Vaughn.

"...a wonderful blur of hybrid pop by way of synth, punk and noise." The Irish Times

The Chalets have been causing quite a stir on the Irish live scene for some time now, winning rave reviews and packing out venues along the way. Formed in late 2001, the line-up consists of 2 girls (Pee Pee & Pony), 2 boys (Chris & Enda) and a drummer (Dilbot). Together they make infectiously catchy songs that offer a unique, quirky and gritty angle on pop.
