A song like a person needs personality and character before it becomes a living thing like when the Devlins arrived on a wet and horrible day at the Galway Bay fm studios to perform Reckless, Colin had received a full Galway welcome and was soaked through. 'New Horizons' is a double album showcase of live performances recorded in Studio 2 @ Galway Bay FM for the Jon Richards Drivetime Show, and is being donated to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.
The album features a varied collection of artists who visited Galway in 1999, which include, The Devlins, Sinead Lohan, Picturehouse, The 4 Of Us, Eleanor McEvoy, Juliet Turner and Kila being the Irish influences.
From America Throwing Muses star Kristin Hersh gives two great performances and there's a rare recording from Dean Friedman plus from Minneapolis, Alicia Corbett's Tea & Sympathy.
'New Horizons' also features up and coming stars like the powerful blues offerings from Junior Thompson, the eclectic jazz folk sounds of Charis, the new breed of Irish songwriters are also here with Ruth Dillon, Sean Crosson, Mark McConville, Ultan Conlon, Tongue, Orangewood, Maria Tecce, Guava, Sarah Lynch, Tom Pyne, Fiona MacMahon, Anthony John Clarke, Debra Wallace and Double F.
'New Horizons' was released on Thursday April 20th. nationwide and contains 41 tracks for the special price of £15.99 and all proceeds are being donated to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre.

IMRO: "InunDations, a new double album showcase of live performances recorded in Studio 2 @ Galway Bay FM is released on Friday May 31st, with all proceeds going to The Samaritans. Recorded over the past twelve months as part of Jon Richards’ in studio sessions, InunDations features tracks from some of the biggest names in music from both at home and abroad.

The impressive line up reads like a whose who of Irish music today and includes Mundy, Damien Rice, The Frames, Hothouse Flowers, The Devlins, Skindive, Juliet Turner, Relish, The 4 of Us, Jack L, The Saw Doctors, Mary Black, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Eleanor McEvoy, Don Baker and many more. Also featured are winning acts from this years Hot Press Awards, including Best Female Singer Gemma Hayes, Roots music award winner Cara Dillon and Philip Lynott Newcomer Award winners, The Revs.

Internationally renowned artists from abroad also feature alongside talented and exciting newcomers. Canadian Ron Sexsmith contributes a fine moment, as does Lloyd Cole who does a remarkable reworking of “Brand New Friend”. There are also remarkable performances from guitarist Pierre Bensusan and Idaho born Josh Ritter. Up and coming stars like powerful blues artist Chaz De Paulo, the hypnotic, compelling voice of Charis’ John Connolly and the vastly underrated Brando fly the flag for new artists.

All of the featured tracks were recorded by Richards and are just a snapshot of the treasure trove of original music that Galway Bay FM has had the pleasure of broadcasting over the past year. "Ever-adventurous HBO managed to score a hit with an unconventional series about a family of morticians. The series' soundtrack is accordingly unorthodox, resembling either an ADD schizophrenic's mix tape or a particularly eclectic session by a late-night college DJ. Aside from the show's own creepy theme and a couple of remixes thereof, there's big-band swing (Peggy Lee), funk (Shuggie Otis), Cuban music (Orlando "Cachaito" Lopez) and more. On the rock side, there's everything from PJ Harvey's raw, wordless "One Too Many" to the post-Beck hip-pop of the Beta Band and the driving, Stonesy "Bohemian Like You" by the Dandy Warhols. If only commercial radio stations were as cool as this."
