dublinks: Turn, Dublin indie rock band, play Temple Bar Music Centre on the 11th of September.

Singer and guitarist Ollie Cole hooked up with drummer and fellow Kells man Ian Melady and then bassist Gavin Fox came on board. They formed in 1998 and after putting out a mini-album, Check My Ears, they released their debut album Antisocial in 2000. Last year, Gavin recently left the band to defect to Scottish boyos, Idlewild, but the Turn fire seems undimmed. Alan Lee (ex-Skindive) replaced him.

They released their mini-album In Position from their own label in March 2002 including the blistering track Heart Attack. The title track and Turn anthems like Beretta and Anti-Social will no doubt be ripped through on the night. Turn had a busy year in 2003 releasing a new album, Forward on their own Nurture label and taking their live show around Ireland. Great melodies, strong vocals and killer riffs have made Turn stand out amongst the other generic Irish guitar bands.

Turn have just enlisted a new bass player, Ciaran Kavanagh unveiled at their recent performance and are presently putting the finishing touches to their next album.
